Can i turbo charge an automatic

If your can can handle the power gains, and you can handle the crap from people for driving an auto, then go for it! It's your car. As long as you like it and enjoy driving it. You are going to have more fun with a manual turbo however. For torque steer well I only got torq now, dynoed and I got 9inch wheels, its basicly none existent and when I do feel it it kind of makes me happy, but yea its basicly none existent. Is 6 psi really the worth of turboing a car?

And if it's auto, you will need a oil cooler. Im starting to realise is not worth it when my goal will only be 7psi as my car wasnt build to handle much. I guess thats a no go for my 6, it was nice to have the idea, and sucks that no companies make super chargers for my car anymore, finding one will be hard and costly, bouuuuuu. Just remember that the BOV sound only comes from letting off the accelerator, so you won't get similar effects between gear-changes.

I will have more questions shortly. Jim, Sully, PM your email address and I'll send some pics. These auto trannies appear to be pretty robust and have been used in several other vehicles, including SUV's. BlackCherry04 has listed a few of them in one or more of his posts, so you might want to search on that.

I'm sure you can overdo anything, but as long as you're not trying to do non-stop burnouts and keep up with the maintenance, I wouldn't expect any problems. I agree with Rich, after having a SC on mine for two years and putting it on a new car with miles and forgoing the warranty.

The torque converter absorbs that extra torque more than a clutch would, the low, low, end has no spool up so you don't have the power that breaks things. I would not tempt it on a daily basis with hard pulls , but as long as you're reasonable, should not be a problem. The power is addictive though It will make you run with the big dogs. From a rolling start you'll find a whole new world. The ones that like to hassle Miata's will learn a lesson fast. Short story : there is a Ford Lighting PU that goes the same way I do and same time he would dog me all the time.

I saw him the day after I SC'ed. He now hangs back and never tests me anymore Better yet, PM your mailing address, and I'll burn a disk with lots of pics. I own a Miata with an automatic transmission, and I'm researching adding a Supercharger or turbocharger as well. Cheaper than the 6spd swap: -E Trans from the Camry.

Longer gear ratio, works great for the Boosted tC, and is less than 3k rpms at highway cruising speeds mph. Same price as the 6spd swap slightly cheaper even : -The PTuning Dog Box transmission that's on the table. Built transmission with optimized gear ratios. With an rpm redline, the trans is capable of doing mph.

BOV's on an automatic? Is it worth getting turbo on automatic tc? TRD Exhaust on an Automatic? Can you boost an automatic? How do I make my automatic transmission handle more power? Can you put a twin turbo in an automatic? How much does it cost for a mechanic to install a turbo? How much horsepower does a twin turbo add to a v8? How much does Turbo increase HP?

How much does Turbo add to horsepower? How much horsepower does a tune add? Is a turbo or a supercharger better? How much HP does a cold air intake add? Should I get an exhaust or intake first?
