His legal issues have been well documented and his past was thrust to the fore once again in the wake of his serious health emergency on April 2, DMX or X, as he's also known was rushed to the hospital following a heart attack thought to have been caused by an overdose. DMX has not kept his difficult past a secret, though, and he has been open about his time behind bars. Speaking to GQ in , he got candid about what it's really like on the inside and how he coped with it.
He admitted he actually found "solace" while locked up, but said that it was, of course, a struggle knowing he could have been doing whatever he wanted on the outside. There's so much more to life," he said. DMX also confessed that there was once a point where he would actually go inside almost by choice, noting, "Before I really had a life, jail was a playground.
